Young Military Members & Expensive Cars Explained
In this video I will explain how young military members can purchase a Dodge Charger on pay less than $30K a year. I also explain how a civilian on the same pay could never do this. To be clear, whether you're a military member or civilian, buying a Charger on less than $30K annual pay is diabolical.

The Future of Air Force EPRs & EPBs is so Easy
So air force doesn't all fly? 👀
Military should make a financial literacy course mandatory. $140 average cell bill, monthly!?!?!? I pay $240 for an entire year!! Mint Mobile baby. I served 9 years in the Air Force. My son is leaving July 30th to start his journey. Grateful for these informative channels. Thank you!
Glad to see security forces finally getting bonuses we hurting bad with manning in the career field
And you have the most friendly fire deaths in combat
Ain’t nobody joining the Chair force
Airforce is the best gig in the world 24 year MSGT
I told a couple Army guys my brother was previously in the military. I said "He was in the Air Force" and they immediately started laughing 🤭
A different branch of the military is the USAF. With incredible quality of life. A plethora of time off. Unlike my UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS. Gentle days to you my friend. I didn't make a mistake by joining the CORPS. I MADE A CHOICE. SEMPER FI.
THE END LMAOOOO
Good evening Jody I had a question, I emailed you on the email listed
I thought they were the same person
I'm still rocking a 4k car and have been able to save $10s of thousands in my 2.5 years in so far. I do my best to share my knowledge with the new airmen!
Definitely smart because interest, full coverage, maintenance, gas, car note.
Not gonna lie, that Civil Service Relief Act just got me on board to serve. That'll really help me a ton
This sounds perfect for someone like me who is going to community college. Just one question. Let’s say I graduate from Community college or a university while in the air national guard and I no longer want to do the air national guard, but, I want to enlist into the Airforce for active duty; Is that possible or would I have to complete all 6 years? Thank you for your time!
It’s possible but it’s really hard to transition from guard to active duty. It’s a lot easier to transition from active to guard, but if you’re joining solely to finish your degree with assistance, the guard may be more beneficial.
My man's jaw line is crazy.
Chairforce
So they will question scars I had knee surgery however I can do exercises including running could they give a waiver ? For my knee
Haha so funny how true this is. Although for me that ended at like 23😆. I’m 30 in August and in the process of joining the Airforce. Wish me luck! 😬
Do you recommend I use study.com for Asvab study since it has everything In one.
Random question... I'm going to be enlisting in about a year. Ive been healthy and fit all my life, but I have never been able to smell all my life. I am not diagnosed with anything, and it doesn't affect my health at all. Would this disqualify me from the air force or could this be worked around? And would this disqualify me from any maintenance job specifically?
It is disqualifying, I just don’t know how the waiver process works for it. Like what you would need to provide in order to get a medical waiver. I would recommend reaching out to a recruiter and see if they can help.
@@Jodywithawhy I kinda figured it was disqualifying. The current recruiter I'm talking to said it wasn't and I had a hard time believing him lol
According to the regulations (Dodi 6130.03) a current olfactory deficit is disqualifying. If he has a way around that, just go with what they say. 🤙🏽
I’m happy with my 2008 Honda Accord. Never gives me problems, just payments on car insurance which isn’t nowhere near over 500 a month, payments for regular maintenance, 200,000 miles but she’s still going! Love me my Ole Amy☺️😂
is 32 too late to join?
Nope. 42 is the cutoff age.
@@Jodywithawhy i know you probably tired of this question but what the best way to prep for the test
The asvab? I would just focus on math. That’s the quickest way to boost scores fast. I made a video breaking down tips for the ASVAB. It might help. ruclips.net/video/I-2NLvZ3PyE/видео.htmlsi=KiUZK6xpbIi8_yTV
Absolutely, here are ten compelling reasons not to join the military, each emphasized for their significant impact on personal and professional life: 1. **High Risk of Physical Harm:** The military environment is inherently dangerous, with a constant risk of serious injury or death. This level of danger is unparalleled in most civilian jobs. 2. **Severe Psychological Trauma:** The intense stress and traumatic experiences in the military can lead to lasting mental health issues such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety. The impact on mental well-being is profound and often lifelong. 3. **Strict Loss of Personal Freedom:** Enlisting means surrendering a significant portion of your personal freedom. The military enforces rigid discipline, strict schedules, and a hierarchy that leaves little room for personal choice. 4. **Frequent Family Separation:** Long deployments and constant relocations are the norm, leading to prolonged separations from loved ones. This can severely strain family relationships and affect the upbringing of children. 5. **Ethical and Moral Conflicts:** Many individuals have strong ethical objections to the concept of war and violence. Joining the military means potentially participating in actions that conflict deeply with personal morals and values. 6. **Career and Educational Disruption:** Time spent in the military can interrupt or significantly delay civilian career progression and educational pursuits. The skills and experiences gained may not always translate well to the civilian job market. 7. **Limited Career Flexibility:** Military careers often have rigid, predefined paths with limited opportunities to switch roles or explore different professional interests. This can be stifling for those with diverse career aspirations. 8. **Long-term Health Risks:** Service members are often exposed to extreme physical conditions and hazardous substances, leading to long-term health issues that may not become apparent until years later. 9. **Economic.
Hose hard is it to get into a rank higher than e-1 starting out?
You can get E-3 just for doing a 6 year contract instead of 4.
I heard the bonus is taxed very heavily. Can you please touch on that? Is the scholarship for education taxed?
You can expect about 25% of your bonus to be taxed.
What are your thoughts on buying a 20k honda or toyota would it be considered bad aswell?
For a brand new military member, it’s a bit expensive. The car payment along with the insurance could stress you out, but it’s possible. I would just you need to run numbers according to your budget and see if it feels right.
@@Jodywithawhypreciate the response im leaving for basic in a month as a e-2 and wanted to know how to make reasonable purchases as a soon to be new airmen so this is very much appreciated
Bro put $600 in insurance but $500 in rent... thats hysterical
The $500 rent was more unrealistic than $600 insurance for a brand new charger for a young person. I stretched the rent, but those insurance costs are real as hell. Lol
I say just save the money until you can buy in full
Ain’t nothing wrong with that. 🙌🏽
Bro let me tell you I walked into a army office the other day on accident and they was cooking me for mentioning your youtube channel 😂😂😂😂😂
lol. That’s hilarious. I didn’t even know their recruiters knew who I am. Lol. They’re the ones out here selling dreams of chargers. Lol
@@Jodywithawhy they didn’t know they was like JODY??? That sound like someone who sleep with yo wife when you away
😂😂😂😂😂
Ohhhhh. Most definitely. In the ARMY a Jody is a bad thing. They probably told you don’t trust anything I say. lol. Jody is the worst kind of person in the Army.
@@Jodywithawhy yesssir they was tryna convince me to join the army but I watched too many of your vids Im set on the air force 🔥
I’m 40 1/2 and decided to apply into the AF. Waiting to get a date for Meps provided I get my credit waiver approved. I’m super nervous and don’t want to fail
Without maintenance nothing will function. These recruits still living in the past. I'll tell you what though highschool wasn't our peak
Im in college still doing pre-requisites to join the nursing program, does the NECEP apply to associates or is it only for bachelors/masters?
You have to first complete the pre reqs. Once you do that, the NECP will send you to school to complete your bachelors then reenter the Air Force as a Commissioned Officer.
My 2017 Chevrolet Equinox with 88000 miles is my scat pack 🥲😂. lol I bought it as a civilian and locked in 2.9% I ain’t leaving it for nothing 😂
I usually play YT vids in the background, but bro I had to pause when you said $500 a month for rent. THATS THE REAL DIABOLICAL PART.
😂😂😂😂😂😂. $1,800 a month you gotta figure it out. Lol
The rent part got me too😂😂. I wanted to know where does a place exist
"They live on base, so getting to and from work is very cheap" I wish. I used to live on base, and now I am moved off base, I spend the same, if not less, to go to and from work. 🤣🥲
Does this money include our job can you help me understand better
I’m a little confused what you mean. Are you asking where did I come up with the pay for a brand new military member? If so here’s a video breaking down pay. ruclips.net/video/dFPh6-K7iWM/видео.htmlsi=Qo4ACMB8psYEPkdp
i’m still buying it
😂😂😂😂. Y’all wild. Lol
I already bought mine lol
my bonus is college is free so ima use that to create something in the civilian life
Great video, I know someone who just bought a dodge charger ironically
Hope it wasn’t an E-3. Lol
@@Jodywithawhy yes it was😂
But what about if u get a bonus for like 20k can I afford it then
You can afford it, may not be the best purchase but it’s definitely possible. I would say first check to what insurance will be. 🤙🏽
Appreciate the break down Jody….. still gonna cop that wide body scat😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. This is gold. 🤌🏽
Im sold on pararescue and I've been training non stop to get myself prepared. I want to put myself through hell and see what I'm made of
I’m glad you know it’s hell and not an easy time. I’m wishing you good luck on the journey. 💪🏽
Jordy, I’m attending pre-med school to join med school; I’m planning to join the military; do you recommend that?
If you’ve found reason to yes. Meaning will you get satisfaction from joining, or do you need assistance with med school tuition. Or do you want to serve as a doctor or nurse in the military to help members. If any of these you’ve answered yes to, then yea the military might be a good fit for you. If you answered no, you just want find your reason before you make the decision. I hope that helps.
I would blow my money on a diesel pickup. At least I can do hauling and make money.
That’s fair. If it’s no longer a liability but an asset, that’s not a bad purchase.
my idea is to find a abandoned older hot rod and work it from the ground up myself because that’s stuff i like to do and these Tupperware cars just ain’t my kinda car.
been watching these videos for a while. Leave for basic on Monday :)
Ayeee. Big congrats and good luck on the journey. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Duran learning is a great resource for studying for the asvab. He is specific to helping you study for the ASVAB and helping you to get the score you want. He also really breaks down the problem solving especially for Math and gives you more than one way to solve it along with PC and WK GS etc. I also appreciated the live classes he has throughout the week so you can ask any questions you have and get instant answers as well as over email and text. I HIGHLY recommend and the monthly cost isn’t very pricey. He has a RUclips channel as well so you can check him out.
What would you suggest a young airman does for a vehicle? Lease, buy, or finance?
It really depends on the individual. Sometimes leasing is the better option especially for those who know they’ll want a new car every few years. But if you know this car will be it for the next 5-10 years then buying would be best. Financing is good as long as you’re within your means but all of these scenarios will change depending on the individual.
lol bullshit
I'm 54.6 years old.
